2003 was a significant year for R&B music, with some of the biggest names in the genre releasing iconic albums. Erykah’s ‘Worldwide underground’, Musiq’s ‘Soulstar’, ‘Anthony’s Comin from where I’m from’, Dwele’s - Subject and Luther’s - ‘ Dance with my father’
Holding its own amongst this stellar cast of iconic albums was Kindred The Family Soul’s debut album Surrender to Love. “ Far Away” and “Stars” both became top ten urban adult contemporary hits and anthems for lovers everywhere. The album received a Soul Train Award and a BET Award nomination.
Fast forward two decades and the Philadelphian husband and wife team are now seven albums deep following the releases of ‘in this life together’ (2005), ‘Arrival’ (2009), ‘Love has no recession’ (2011), ‘A Couple Friends’ (2014), ‘legacy of Love’ (2016) and ‘Auntie & Unc’ (2021).
